OBEDIENT DADDY
A father of five came home with a toy, summoned his children
and asked which one of them should be given the present.
‘Who is the most obedient, never talks back to mother and
does everything he or she is told?’
He enquired.
There was a silence, and thena chorus of voices: ‘ you play
with it, Daddy!’
THUS SPAKE THE BOY
Arriving at a small village, a priest asked a little boy for
directions to the local church. The boy duly gave the directions.
‘Thank you very much. I’d like you, your mummy, daddy and
all your friends to come to the church tonight, ‘said the priest.
‘what for?’ asked the surprised boy.
‘I’ ll be giving a sermon and want to tell you all how to
find heaven,’ explained the preacher.
‘ Don’t make me laugh,’ retorted the boy. ’You didn’t even
know where the church was.’

When Girdhari’s buffalo strayed into the neighbour’s field and
ate up some of his wheat, the neighbour complained, to which Girdhari replied, ‘Don’t
worry, tomorrow I will sendyou all the dung my buffalo yields from your crop.’
